Libro Castro Book Launch Party Raises Funds for Castro Adobe State Historical Park
Libro Castro, a fundraising party and book launch, was held Saturday, June 23rd at Castro Adobe State Historic Park. The event honored Castro Adobe stewards from the past and celebrated the recent progress toward opening the Castro Adobe, the first State Historic Park in the Pajaro Valley.
This year's stewardship event celebrated the Paizis family, who owned and cared for the property from 1959-1963. The party also launched the second edition of Suzanne Paizis' chronicle of the Castro's history: The Castro Adobe in the Twentieth Century: From Earthquake to Earthquake, which has been updated with nine new chapters by Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks with help from Miller Maxfield.
All proceeds from the sale of the book benefit Castro Adobe State Historical Park.
