Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County Marks 50 Years With Anniversary Gala, Launch of Alumni C
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County held a press event on January 29 to announce it will mark its 50th anniversary with a special Gala event on March 23, 2019, a year-long calendar of events, and launching a new Alumni Club.
Speakers including alumni, board members, staff, Scotts Valley Mayor Jack Dilles and Santa Cruz Mayor Martine Watkins discussed the impact the organization has had on the local community. Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County estimates that since 1969 they have served over 30,000 youth in Santa Cruz County and beyond. On average, 444 kids ranging in age from 6 to 18 are served after school and 380 in the summer at three locations: Downtown Santa Cruz Clubhouse, Live Oak Clubhouse and the Joe and Linda Aliberti Clubhouse in Scotts Valley.
Miller Maxfield produced the press conference, managed all media relations, and created event collateral and a logo for the Alumni Club. We are assisting with the Gala event publicity as well.
